We envision a world where the Paris goals of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and reducing the impacts of climate change are a reality. This can only be achieved with rapid effort from everyone, separately and collectively.

We support business to reach net zero and to facilitate its ecosystem’s low carbon transition.

Taine Consulting plays at the intersection of climate and business to achieve our mission to mainstream corporate climate action.

By turning ambition into action, we aim to - protect value, create value and enable stakeholder value creation.

Collaboration

Together we are much stronger.

These are the values we live by…

Innovation

We are bold, curious, and constantly challenging the status quo.

Kindness

Life, kindness and compassion come first.

Integrity

Even when no one is watching we act in the same manner; honestly and with these shared values in mind.

Lifelong learning

The world would be boring without change, we look forward to responding proactively.

What’s in a name?

This image is of the front garden at my parents’ home in Richards Bay, South Africa. At the time it was taken, we were amidst a heatwave with never experienced before temperatures, and the grass and other plants had taken a knock. Nonetheless, this “tuin” is my happy place, the place I draw inspiration from and where I retreat to catch my breath or be reminded about what matters. This is also where I came up with the name Taine Consulting. “Tuin” is the Afrikaans and Dutch word for garden, which I phonetically spelled as “Taine”.

Taine is used chiefly in English and by the Maori, to mean the God of Light or God of Forests, respectively. A welcome and fortunate stroke of serendipity!

May Taine Consulting be true to its name, drawing on conventional and indigenous wisdom to support all life on our planet.

Taine Consulting’s logo was created by Crown Designs, a South African based designer.

The pillar with three vertical prongs is a nod to the equally critical facets of i) the triple bottom-line reporting imperative; People, Planet and Profit, and ii) the Sustainability pillars; Economic, Environment and Social.

If one looks carefully it could look like a tree as well, our invaluable natural resources which symbolise life, wisdom and growth.
